[Ubuntu] Connect to a Pocket PC (Windows Mobile 5, 2003)

Need to connect my dopod818 to ubuntu in order to sync some data.
I tried this a long time ago, without success.
This time, it seems to work well.
Here's the HowTo I referenced:

As usual, you have to install some packages at first.
And then set up some configurations.
Voila! I can sync 818 with Evolution. :)

所以，現在又一條活龍(雖然成像好像還是不大好)。
這幾天，有太陽，有雲，也有下雨。

J'ai essayé un noveau logiciel pour communiquer aver mes amis par msn protocol, qui s'appelle emesene. Il est fait par python et python-gtk, donc il marche sur linux et aussi sur windows. Grâce à son codage Python + Gtk, je peux le modifier facilement.

最近在電視上看到遊Annecy湖的廣告，隨手錄了下來(改天再放)，
隨著氣溫愈來愈高，這兒的遊客應該也會愈來愈多吧。

Every time I use xchat, I have to connect the irc server manually.
And then, I have to choose the channels I want to join in all over again.
That's really tiresome for me.

so I did some search today abou this little trouble.
Actually it's quite easy to solve if I pay attention to some docs on the net.

1. choose the server list in the menu.
2. edit the property of the very server you wanna connect:
2.1 you'll find an option to make it automatically connect when the program is on.
2.2 In the same dialog, you can find a place to input channels too.
3. re-launch the program. voila, c'est tout!

週日有到夏慕尼滑雪的活動，光是車錢就要18歐。
如果再加上一整天的forfait的話，大概總共要50歐。
還在考慮中…

今天在網上找資料時，看到有人說wordreference的解釋比較精確。
我去找了幾個最近在學的les mots familiers，它裡頭大都有明確的英文解釋。
所以，早上花了點時間把它也加到onlinedic裡頭。

跟其他網站不一樣的地方是，wordreference會檢查request的header，
看user-agent是不是一般常用的browser，如果不是的話會擋掉該request。
這麼一來，python提供的最基本的

urllib.urlopen

就派不上用場了。

上網看了一下，要改掉預設的user-agent，得要改用urllib2才行。
大致上的code如下：

摩天輪 / update system to Ubuntu 7.10 / emesene

I registered to receive a copy of Ubuntu 7.10 CD on ubuntu's site several weeks ago.
After waiting for so long, finally I got the package.
Originally, I've installed Ubuntu 7.04 on my system.
It's functioning well for quite some time and,
I am quite happy with its performance.
(On the contrary, Windows XP always disappoints me, though it's there for more than 3 years)

However, it's easier to find softwares for version 7.10 now.
So I decided to upgrade the system.
The process of upgrading is smooth.
The system automatically downloaded packages that need to be upgrade from internet (700 MB?)
and it searched the package in the CD too.
It took me about one hour or so to download all the necessary files,
and another one to upgrade the system.
Since I was reading docs at that moment,
I couldn't really feel the time passing.

Now it's brand new!! but, to be honest, I can't tell much where the difference is,
except for one new kernel is added to the GRUB menu.

Anyways, I installed another new msn client, emesene,
which is written in python.
It seems that it supports offline messaging, which is the feature I craved for.
hm, maybe it's time for me to pick up python again. :p

在二手市場買了六本書，花了台幣不到三十元。

就C/P值來說是很高；不過，要全部看完，又是另外一回事了

 

別看到Venezia就以為是在威尼斯。

這是一家在Annecy的餐廳，就在運河邊。

NOËL在法文是聖誕節，加上LE是陰性。

可是當人名的話卻是給Monsieur用的。

不過亂猜一下，可能是在教人如何放輕鬆的。
